This 20" x 16" print was created from narcissus on Adox fine-art photographic paper, a paper that is no longer available. In Greek mythology, Narcissus was known for his extraordinary beauty and vanity. He rejected all suitors, including the nymph Echo, and ultimately fell in love with his reflection in a pool of water. He pined away, unable to possess his image, and eventually transformed into the beautiful narcissus flower.

Lumen print photography utilizes the sun or a similar light source to create a print of the subject matter on semi-matte, glossy, art, or other fiber-based photographic papers. The print is then processed in a traditional darkroom where the image is made permanent by immersion in a photographic fixer. This camera-less photographic technique produces one-of-a-kind prints.
